True Love
1 John 4:8 He that
loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Recently, people in the US celebrated a “SPECIAL” day; which is called valentines. It was a day of “love”. A day when people are suppose to be nicer to those they love. But let me add a side note here, if you love someone more one day a year than the rest of the year, then you do not love them. You may say, “Well I don’t have anyone for valentines day.” I too have to say that, and honestly, it use to make me depressed. But I finally figured it out that though I don’t have anyone on this earth, I still have Jesus who loves me. So today I want to take just a moment and talk about true love, which is the love of Christ.
The love of Jesus is inseparable. Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We live in a world today that has no idea what love is. That is only one of the reasons that divorce is so ramped today. How many times have I heard “I don’t love him or her anymore? The reason why is because they never did. Hellevision is perverting peoples perception of reality. They think if it doesn’t go like it does on TV then it isn’t true love.
A show on TV once said “love isn’t about work. Love is about feelings, presents, spur of the moment decisions, fluttering of the heart.” That is what helliwood is pushing down people throats, and they are buying it hook, line, and sinker.
Before the devil fed them that trash, even TV shows had standards. Married couples would be shown sleeping in separate beds. At bed time everyone was completely covered. Put that up against what you see today. But hellivision isn’t completely responsible for divorce. Look at the woman at the well in Sychar, they didn’t have TV back then, they just had a perverted sense of love. Jesus said to her in John 4:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
Whenever we look at the world to get godly advice, we can’t help but fail, and bring heartache and sorrow to those around us. If you want to know what love is about, just look at Jesus. He is our example.
The love of Jesus is impartial. Deuteronomy 10:19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Do you pick and choose who you will love? How do you know who to love and who to hate? God says that we are to love everyone. There was a person when I was growing up, who was kicked out of every school in Ascension parish. I was nice to him, and he changed some. He didn’t change a lot, but he at least stayed in school that year. Imagine, if you will, having no friends. The only ones that don’t avoid you are those who want to fight you. What would you do to have a friend? Having no friends is a very lonely place. So be a friend to others, because you never know what it might do for someone.
But that person isn’t very nice. That has nothing to do with it, but since you want to go there, Matthew 5:43-44 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Why is it that we try to justify our reason to hate? If we are going to let this mind be in us which was also in Christ Jesus, then we are going to have to quit using stinking thinking. What if God would have thought like you and I when He came to earth?
Love proves our Christianity. The Bible says in John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Here I am telling you that you need to love the unlovely, and I listen to people around here, and you can’t even love one another. Do you realize that satan is using you to destroy this world and Christianity. And we justify it when we say “well you got to take care of ole number one”. You didn’t get that from reading your Bible. Come on, its time to wake up and realize that satan has been using you; and do something about it.
Then how should I love others? You see God is the standard. John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. A standard was a set of scales. You would put something on one side of it, and then put stuff on the other side until it balanced out. So my question to you is, does your love balance out when the love of Jesus is the standard?
Oh! One last thing! The world will know if you are real or not, and if you are not sincere, then they will go into the world and find someone who is. The Bible says in Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
There is enough in all of us to hate if we look hard enough, but we are to LOOK for that which is good, and cleave to it.
